The 100K Project is the quilt project where we track the road from 51,000 to 100K subscribers on YouTube.
I have designed a fun quilt and for every 10 new subs I get to sew a pixel to the quilt. This results in 4,900 pixels by the time we reach 100K, which makes a perfect 70 x 70 pixel quilt.
So before you do anything: Subscribe to Sugaridoo on YouTube (and prevent this QAL from becoming the longest running QAL ever.)

The Design
Here is an overview of all the pixels that I’ve sewn so far. The design will slowly reveal itself when the Sugaridoo YouTube channel grows.

Sew Along!
There were some requests to sew along with this quilt. Please be aware that this might very well become the longest ever running QAL.
If you’d like to sew along, I have two PDFs for you to download: the pattern for the nine patches and a list of all the colours used in the quilt to sew along with the 100K Project.
The 100K Project Pattern
In the pattern PDF you’ll find instructions on how to make the nine patches, and all the blocks I have made so far. All new blocks will be added to the end of the file, so you only need to print out or look at the new pages.
Colour list
In the colour list PDF you’ll find all the colours that are used in the quilt. You can use this to cut the squares for your quilt. Maybe just don’t cut them all at once, there might be slight changes as I sew the quilt.
Blocks in scrappy fabric
Here are some of the blocks I’ve made. This will give an idea of what the colours look like in (scrappy) fabric.
Low Volume is the most used fabric in the quilt. I will use quite colourful low volumes to keep that part of the quilt interesting.

There are also a lot of light blues and Dark Blues in the quilt. I try to make them pretty scrappy, but still keep them in the correct shade of blue.

For green I chose to put Scrappy Green in the design, marked with subtle stripes. Initially I thought I’d make these blocks in light green, but scrappy, mixing all three shades of green together works better.

The image below shows the difference between the low volume, the white on white and the cream fabric that I use.

Updates in your inbox
When you’re sewing along with the 100K Project you can receive updates in your inbox when the pattern PDF is updated or new videos are published about the project.
Leave your name and email down below and you’ll be added to the list.
YouTube Subscriber Update
For every 10 new subscribers on YouTube, I’ll add one square to the quilt. Working in nine patches, this means 1 nine patch for every 90 new subscribers.
Let’s track some numbers: the date, current # of subs and # of nine patches to add.
30 Sept ’25: 51,145 (1 nine patch)
30 Sept ’26: 52,270 (14 nine patches)
14 Oct ’26: 52,489 (16 nine patches)
How it’s calculated
Wondering how I know how many pixels to add? Here are the calculations :)
total # nine patches = (current # subs − 51,000) ÷ 10 ÷ 9
# nine patches to add = total # nine patches − # nine patches already sewn
Any request on what square to sew next? Can’t wait to sew more blocks for this quilt.
