The Sugaridoo Advent Calendar
The Sugaridoo Advent Calendar is a mystery quilt along. It is a project that we work on together during the 24 days of Advent. Starting on the 1st of December 2025.
Everyday you get to unpack a gift. These gifts might contain a piece of the pattern, fabrics, quilting notions, special Sugaridoo gifts, a treat, and more.
The main technique of the project is Foundation Paper Piecing. We will create a small project, complete with quilting, backing, binding and some hand stitched details.
Everything is included
All the instructions and materials to finish your project during these 24 days are included.
Advent 2025
This year, December 2025, we will be back with the third edition of the Sugaridoo Advent Calendar!
What is new this year?
This year the Sugaridoo Advent Calendar will run on a dedicated page on the Sugaridoo website. This means we have a private space where we can share about the advent calendar. Here you can also download the digital version of the pattern (this is a bonus, you will receive a printed version in the calendar).
Video instructions
There will be video instructions for the project this year. I’ll take you by the hand to guide you through all the parts of the project.
Live Zoom bee
There will be a live bee through zoom where you can ask you questions. You can ask for a live demonstration of a part of the project, share your progress AND get to know your fellow Advent quilters for all over the world!
Advance FPP version
Something else that’s new this year is an option to make an advanced version of the pattern. Each calendar will contain both the standard pattern and the advance pattern. Most of us will make the standard version. But if you’re looking for a FPP challenge, this years calendar is for you!
How to choose between the standard version of the advanced version will all become clear when we start the calendar. No need to think about that before ordering the calendar.

What we made previous years
It’s a complete surprise what we will be making this year. But I can show you what we made last year.
During Advent 2023 we sewed together this cute reindeer and turned it into a pillow. All the needed materials were included in the Advent box. The patterns, fabrics, thread, quilting notions, needles, everything.
You won’t know what we will be making until the end of the project. In the beginning the project looked like this. Would you have guessed what we we’re making?
Last year, Advent 2025, we made two place mats. Even after sewing all of the sections it wasn’t completely clear what we were making.
It turned out we were making trains! With a wagon full of presents or loaded with a big Christmas tree.
What to expect
The Advent Calendar will give you 24 wrapped gifts. Each day you can open one, they are all numbered. Each gift will contain a piece of the project or a gift for you. It could be a piece of the pattern, fabrics, materials we need, sewing notions, a Christmas treat…
On the 24th of December you will have a completed project made with everything from the 24 gifts. There will be printed patterns and extra instructions on a special page on the Sugaridoo website. This will give you everything you need to confidently make your project from start to finish.
How much time will it take to keep up?
When you sew along and take some time everyday to work on the project you will have a beautiful finished project on the 24th of December.
We go at a slow pace, you don’t have to sew something every day. Some days are for cutting, some for preparing the pattern, some for hand stitching, some for quilting, and some just for unwrapping a present.

The 2025 color scheme
This year there will be one version of the Advent project. We will be making something that would be wonderful to use and display in your home not only during Christmas but also in the winter months after.
