Let’s make a quilt together!
The Octadot quilt is a fun quilt made with 5 x 5 inch squares. Maybe you have a charmpack lying around? Then this is your moment to sew those squares into a quilt.

Here is an overview of what is going to happen when in the Octadot Quilt Along.
Week 1, Oct 24: Selecting out fabrics
Week 2, Oct 31: Start sewing
Week 3, Nov 7: Continue sewing
Week 4, Nov 14: Sashing + assembly rows
Week 5, Nov 21: Assembly quilt top
Pattern
If you like to come prepared, you can download the pattern right away. The Octadot pattern is a free Sugaridoo pattern. When you sign up for the QAL (also free, I will be sending out one email a week during the QAL) you will receive the pattern in your inbox right away.
Big or Small?
The Octadot quilt comes in two sizes. You can choose between a mini quilt, 20 x 20 inch and a small quilt, 38 x 49″.
Fabric
Here is what you need to make the mini quilt
- 1 x a 5 x 5 inch pack (or 24 5 by 5 inch squares)
- 1 1/4 yard of background fabric
And for the 38 x 49 inch quilt you will need:
- 3 x a 5 by 5 inch pack (or 90 5 by 5 inch squares)
- 3 1/2 yard of background fabric
