Sewing together during Advent
What a wonderful Sugaridoo advent we had last year! Together with 150 quilters we opened a package everyday. Every day a piece of the project unfolded. We sewed together for 24 days, making a fun Christmas project.
This year, December 2024, there will be a second Sugaridoo Advent Calendar, with a brand new project.

What we made last year
It’s a complete surprise what we will be making this year. But I can show you what we made last year.
During Advent 2023 we sewed together this cute reindeer and turned it into a pillow. All the needed materials were included in the Advent box. The patterns, fabrics, thread, quilting notions, needles, everything.
You won’t know what we will be making until the end of the project. In the beginning the project looked like this. Would you have guessed what we we’re making?
What to expect
The Advent Calendar will give you 24 wrapped gifts. Each day you can open one, they are all numbered. Each gift will contain a piece of the project or a gift for you. It could be a piece of the pattern, fabrics, materials we need, sewing notions, …
On the 24th of December you will have a completed project made with everything from the 24 gifts. There will be printed patterns and extra instructions on a special page on the Sugaridoo website. This will give you everything you need to confidently make your project from start to finish.
How much time will it take to keep up?
When you sew along and take a little time everyday to work on the project you will have a beautiful finished project on the 24th of December.
We go at a slow pace, you don’t have to sew something every day. Some days are for cutting, some for preparing the pattern, some for handstitching, some for quilting, and some just for unwrapping a present.

2024 options: Winter or Christmas
This year there will be two options for the calendar. You can choose between a Winter or a Christmas edition.
The project for both versions will be exactly the same, only the colours are different. Below you see a Sugaridoo Christmas, with pinks and greens on the left. And on the right, with blues, teals and yellow/orange is the winter version on the right.
These are not the fabrics that will be in the calendar, those will remain a surprise until you open your gifts. But these give you an idea of the color scheme for the projects.
