A new quilt project to practice ruler quilting
Over the past few weeks I have been playing with a collection of solid fabrics to make a new canvas for quilting. This turned in to the Picture Perfect quilt. Nine Polaroid blocks, each in a different color. And now we are going to quilt them together with rulers.
Picture Perfect QAL
The quilt consists of nine blocks. We will start on April 16 with sewing the quilt top. Then, from May 13, we will start quilting together.
Every two weeks I share a video on YouTube with ruler inspiration for two blocks. Every four weeks you will find those videos, together with written instructions and illustrations, on the Bernina blog.
For each block you decide whether you use the ruler I am demonstrating, another ruler you already own, or free motion quilt instead. There is no right or wrong, just practice and fun!
Get the fabric kit
I have a limited number of kits available in the webshop. The kit includes all fabrics for the quilt top. You can add batting and backing when you order. When you purchase a kit, you are automatically added to the QAL email list.
Join with your own fabric
Prefer to use fabrics from your own stash? No problem. The pattern for the Picture Perfect quilt is free via the Bernina blog, it will be published on April 16.

During the QAL I will be posting a YouTube video every two weeks. Every four weeks there will be a new blog post on the Bernina blog with the videos, written instructions and illustrations.

Rulers
These are the rulers I will be using during this project. For each ruler I will make a video showing a new quilting pattern. Feel free to pick and choose the rulers you want to work with. It’s your quilt, so quilt your pictures any way you like. This QAL is all about practicing and exploring ruler quilting together.
