Let’s do some fussy cutting today!

The fabric you find in today’s package is perfect for fussy cutting.

Here is the section that we are making today. That will give you an idea on how to fussy cut.

  • Pieces F1 and F4 will be today’s fabric,
  • pieces F2, 3, 5 and F6 will be the same as E3
  • and the little piece on the side (piece F7, but the number is missing) will be in background fabric.

And the Christmas version will look like this.

The little robots will go in the rectangular spaces of section F.

You can cut a 1 1/8 x 1 3/4 inch hole out of a paper to search for the best spot to fussy cut. You will need 2 pieces of about 1 5/8 x 2 1/4 inch including seam allowance for F1 and F4.

To cut my fabric pieces I cut out this 1 1/8 x 1 3/4 inch ‘hole’ by adding a 1/4 inch of paper around it.

That way I could use t to spot a nice robot to fussy cut, and then cut the piece including a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

Which robots will you choose?

Hi Irene, i was hoping for a pice of your new fabric line. I love it so much. Fussy cutting is not my favourite part, bc of the waste of fabric, but with your technique it was more manageable.
