Well, it’s the step I always forget.. Putting a label on your quilt!
How is that with you? Do you label your quilts?
I think it’s wonderful to put a label on it. To remember when you made the project and for who you made it. So let’s not forget this time and create a nice small label for out placemat.
Take a piece of left over fabric in the color you like. Cut it to a 5 x 5 inch square.
Fold it in half on the diagonal and give it a press.
Now use the sharpie to write a label. Maybe something like ‘Sugaridoo Advent 2024’, or ‘Made for:.. Made by … Date: …” That’s all up to you.
Then you place the label in a corner on the back, pin it in place. And stitch on an 1/8 of an inch on the edges.
The biding will go over it, so the edges will be nicely covered.
If you like, you can hand stitch the open side of the corner to the back of the place mat.
